Recombinant
human
epidermal
growth factor,rh-EGF,rhEGF,EGF
Description:
Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF) is a polypeptide growth factor which stimulates
the proliferation of a wide range of epidermal and epithelial cells. Human EGF
is a 6.2 kDa protein containing 53 amino acid residues.
Source:
E. coli
Purity:> 95%
SDS-PAGE and HPLC analyses. Endotoxin level is less than 0.1 ng per
μg
(1EU/ug) of EGF.
Activity:Human EGF is fully
biologically active when compared to standards. The ED50 as determined by the
dose-dependent stimulation of thymidine uptake by BALB/c 3T3 cells is < 0.1
ng/mL,corresponding to a specific activity of > 1 x 10(E7) units/mg.
Applications:
For most in vitro applications,EGF exerts its
biological activity in the concentration range of 0.5 to 25.0 ng/mL.Responding
cells are (partial list):
Epidermal mesothelial cells.
Presentation:
Lyophilized powder with no additives.
Size:
0.1mg,1mg etc.
Storage:2-8ºC
(in refrigerator) storage, stable within 36 months.
